Owl upcycled ceramics

It is just before dawn, you’ve woken up to see the sunrise. You go outside in the dark. As you pass by a forest, you hear it: the sound of an owl. It is just bright enough for you to see it, sitting in the hole of a tree. You stay still and observe her. She is beautiful with her white and brown colours.

No need to wake up early, with these upcycled ceramics you can feel in this forest. When I designed this piece, I wanted to have a feel of 3D tree using the roundness of the pieces. I painted the owl and her baby as well as the front, the back and the inside of a tree with sleeping baby owls. And all around the box you have branches of the tree.

I used ceramic decals of my watercolour paintings. I fired the piece in a kiln so the paintings are permanent. It issafe to use with food and drinks.
